Do I get a written contract?

Always. Ontario's Consumer Protection Act requires a written contract for home renovation work over $50, and it caps final cost at no more than 10% above the written estimate unless you approve changes in writing. We put every job in writing before work starts, exactly as the Act intends.

Who pulls the building permit?

We do, in your municipality: City of Brantford applications go through Cloudpermit, and County of Brant projects use the county's residential permit package. A contractor who asks you to skip the permit, or to pull it yourself as the homeowner, is transferring the legal risk onto you.

Are you insured and covered by WSIB?

Yes. We carry commercial general liability insurance and WSIB coverage, and we will show you the certificates before you sign anything. Ontario does not licence general contractors, so checking insurance and WSIB clearance is the single most important verification a homeowner can do.

How much deposit do you ask for?
